I began working with the founders of Atomic Object in the summer of 2000, following my freshman year in college. After completing my computer science degree at Grand Valley State University in 2003, I made the transition from intern to full-time employee. Over the next few years, I played a vital role in helping to establish the identity and best practices of the growing company.

In 2005, I took a life opportunity by accepting a job in the Boston area with X-Rite Inc. During my time at X-Rite, I had the opportunity to work with many departments and gain a holistic appreciation for the complete lifecycle of B2B software, including: requirements gathering, design, application development, key customer relationships, sales, and maintenance. In the summer of 2008, I moved back to Grand Rapids, rejoined the Atomic team, and began helping Carl and Shawn with operations and sales.

My primary job as a Managing Partner is working with Shawn Crowley to ensure that the Grand Rapids team is busy and happily engaged on interesting and challenging projects. Shawn and I also focus on improving operations, management practices, and culture. A percentage of our time is targeted on company-wide considerations such as marketing, growth strategy, and enrichment initiatives that affect Atomic as a whole. I also commonly serve as a technical/business consultant and system architect on a variety of projects. These projects effectively utilizes my background and experience to bridge the gap between technology and business.

I completed my M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in 2009.
